Life in KWSixth
We expect KWSixth formers to be the best that they can be, putting maximum effort into their studies as well as being positive and enthusiastic members of the School community. Outstanding attendance and punctuality must be coupled with an exceptional work ethic in order to achieve success.
KW Sixth Expectations
We expect the highest standards from our students both in their behaviour and how they present themselves. All Sixth Form students are required to follow the Sixth Form Code of Conduct and the Sixth Form Dress Code.
The School Day
Sixth Form students are required to attend school for the whole school day. The day starts with registration so that tutors can support students daily and distribute necessary information. There will be spaces on your timetable when face to face learning in a classroom is not scheduled. This is self study time. Students will work on specific tasks set by staff in each of their main subjects and, when required, contribute to the wider School community. . All students are expected to use their study time effectively. We recommend that students do not engage in more than 8 hours of paid employment per week.
16-19 Bursary Fund
If your family is in receipt of means tested benefits, you may also be eligible for support from the 16-19 Bursary Fund to help with the costs of studying at sixth form. Applications for the bursary fund happen in the first half term of Sixth Form.
Bursary can be used to pay for things such as textbooks; specialist equipment and school trips.
Further information on the Bursary Policy can be found here.
