We understand how interconnected academic success and personal wellbeing are as you navigate the challenges of early adulthood. Our mission is to equip you with the tools and resources to excel in both areas. We aim to provide a wide selection of courses (A Levels, BTecs & CTecs) as well as a learning environment that enables you to succeed and leave KWSixth thoroughly prepared for the next steps in your life. We passionately believe in promoting intellectual rigour, personal resilience and leadership. Our specialist teachers will nurture and guide you, preparing you for the next stage of your academic journey. There will be the highest of standards and expectations to ensure every student who enters our sixth form reaches their full potential.
We have a wonderful first two cohorts of sixth form students who are at the very centre of our school community. They are role models in their learning, they lead assemblies, mentor and guide younger students. This has allowed them to develop and nurture their leadership and team work skills which will be of such use when they embark on their university course or apprenticeship. There is a vast array of enrichment opportunities, all given dedicated time in the sixth form curriculum to hone these skills and competencies. This has benefited our current cohort of year 13 students who following success in their exams in the summer will embark on range of highly aspirational university courses. Overall, our sixth formers are given an outstanding academic experience in lessons and are thriving in the environment set up for them. Our current year 13 cohort have successfully applied to a range of highly ambitious and aspirational university courses: 73% of the applicants have applied and secured offers for at least one Russell Group university (the 24 top research-intensive universities in the UK) and 59% to at least one of the Sutton Trust 13 universities (the 13 top selective universities in the UK. We have also had students applying to specialist universities such as LIPA (Liverpool Institute of Performing Arts); UCFB (University Campus of Football Business); FRA (Fashion Retail Academy); RVC (Royal Veterinary College) and the Rose Bruford College (specialising in performance and production arts). Our students have applied for a wide range of subjects. Business related and science related courses are the most popular with our Year 13 students, but other courses applied for include Equine Therapy, Aircraft Engineering; Law; Physiotherapy and Primary School Education.
