Overview/Vision/Intent
- To ensure students are able to build on the 3 strands: Computer Science, Information Communication Technology and Digital Literacy.
- To develop independent and creative learners who can harness technology to solve problems, support & empower them.
- Enabling students to problem solve, think logically, to be more resilient when faced with problems and to work independently to solve problems. To enable students to be ethically and morally aware.
- To give students digital skills which will enable them to think creatively, using technology and social media responsibly and safely to aid learning. To enable students to analyse data effectively. The curriculum will enable students to utilise a variety of resources to find solutions and to prepare them for the future workplace.
- Giving students computing literacy which will prepare them for the modern day world. Computer literacy is for life and will enable students to understand and change the world. Digital literacy will enable students to use, and express themselves and develop their ideas through information and communication technology as active participants in a digital world.
- Building character and to give students moral purpose. To give students the best chances and opportunities to build skills and knowledge. There are also opportunities for students to gain some character skills by achieving some of the Gatsby benchmark. NC is a key driver for shaping the curriculum. To give students skills required at KS4.
