Year 12 Work Experience
Towards the end of June, our year 12 cohort embarked on their week long work experience placements, gaining a valuable glimpse into life beyond KWSixth. From engineering to accountancy, to law firms, to local primary schools, students spent time in a wide range of industries, exploring potential career paths and developing essential workplace skills.
Students learned how to communicate effectively with colleagues, manage their time, and adapt to different routines and expectations, gaining such a valuable insight into the working world. Employers praised their enthusiasm, professionalism, and willingness to learn.
Here is what a few students had to say:
Tiffany P. who worked with an architect in London said ‘It was a great experience and definitely got me thinking about architecture as a potential career route.’
Sofia M. said about her role in a financial conduct authority ‘I was given real responsibility as I was involved in meetings with the international division of the company as well as completing research for them.’
Ben A. did a placement in race track design, designing Formula 1 tracks and models. He said ‘I loved it and it is certainly a career path that I would embark on in the future.’
A big thank you to all the organisations that hosted our students and to the staff and families who helped make the week a success. Work Experience is a key milestone in the Year 12 journey – helping students connect classroom learning with real-world application and inspiring confidence for the future post KWS.
