On Wednesday 2nd July, we were fortunate to host representatives from Parker Hannifin, Coachpath Ltd, Amuma and J9W, who facilitated our Y12 Mock Assessment Centre Day. Year 12 students were put through their paces, with tasks including ice-breakers, creating and delivering presentations, budgeting tasks, and the ‘NASA’ task which requires students to rank items in order of importance for a spell in space! Students were observed throughout the day by our facilitators, and given feedback on their contributions to tasks throughout the day. Students were also involved in a CV writing workshop to prepare them for the job application process.

The day was enjoyed by both the students and facilitators, and gave useful insights to students about what employers look for when using the assessment centre method in their recruitment process. The facilitators were really impressed by the confidence of the students, while students commented on how valuable the day was in preparing them for the world of work and applying for jobs.
