Y6 Students from St Helen’s Visit KWS
They started their visit with a comprehensive and engaging tour of KWS in small groups, led by Year 7 & 8 St Helen’s alumni. The tours allowed them to immerse themselves in the sights and sounds of a secondary school, while being able to ask any questions they might have. Highlights included seeing many secondary school lessons in action and exploring the resources of the library and our wide ranging sports facilities. The vast array of food available in the food hall got a special mention by many, and they were delighted to have seen some familiar faces in classes about the school, as well as to have spotted our sheep grazing on the hill.
A Q&A session followed with our Headteacher, Mr Martin, where these prospective secondary school students were pleased to report back on how much they had enjoyed the tour, as well as having had the opportunity to ask more questions about life at KWS.
The students then headed into one of our art rooms to immerse themselves in creating still life pieces. Their creative efforts were expertly guided by our Head of Art, Mrs. Alexis, assisted by our diligent Year 12 and 13 Art students. Together, they curated a session that was welcoming, inspiring and fully inclusive. The vibrant art pieces created will be displayed within the new Art and Design Technology space at St Helen’s.
We were thrilled to host this fantastic group of Year 6 students who are an asset to their school. We really appreciated the positive feedback from both teachers and pupils about KWS. We look forward to welcoming many of them back in September to join our Year 7 cohort.
