On Thursday morning of this week we had the pleasure of welcoming our latest ‘Speakers for Schools’ presenter Mr Chris Gentle. Chris spoke to our Year 9 students as part of Green Skills Week 2022. Chris talked about his role as an advisor for the World Energy Council and how he is hoping to help improve students’ literacy on energy choices and what the future holds.
Chris is a senior business advisor; energy transition expert and entrepreneur. Previously he was Partner and Head of Research for Deloitte the $50bn, 300,000 person firm. He currently works as senior advisor to the Secretary-General of the World Energy Council. He helped lead the global design and delivery of the Council’s Humanising Energy mission – to bring a clean and just energy transition for people in all four corners of the world. Chris has advised a number of multinational organisations including the United Nations, OECD and the World Trade Organisation.
Chris’s insights and advice were well received by the Year 9 students. There was an opportunity to interact towards the end of the presentation and students asked thoughtful questions. Our Year 9 students were a credit to the school in how they listened attentively to the speaker.
