EW26 Excursions
For the adrenaline junkies, the heat didn’t slow them down (though the water rides certainly helped!).
- Thorpe Park & Chessington World of Adventures: Students braved the massive coasters and cooled off on the splash rides, bringing massive energy to two of the UK’s top theme parks.
- The Snow Centre: Quite literally the coolest trip of the week! Students escaped the blistering heat wave entirely, stepping into a winter wonderland to shred the indoor slopes.
- Willen Lake & Phasels Wood: From high-ropes courses and woodland teamwork at Phasels Wood to cooling off with watersports at Willen Lake, our students embraced the great outdoors like absolute champions.
- Harry Potter Studios: Stepping onto the actual sets, walking through the Great Hall, and raising a glass of ice-cold Butterbeer was a magical favourite for many.
- Clue Quest: Teams put their heads together in air-conditioned escape rooms, racing against the clock to solve mind-bending puzzles and prove their secret agent credentials.
- National Space Centre & Bletchley Park: Students explored the cosmos in Leicester and cracked secret codes at the historic home of the WWII codebreakers – proving that learning never stops, even in a heatwave!
- Tring Museum & Whipsnade Zoo: From the incredible taxidermy collections at Tring to spotting majestic animals at Whipsnade, our nature-loving students had a blast.
- The Golden Hinde & Climbing the O2: History buffs explored Sir Francis Drake’s iconic galleon, while our bravest explorers conquered the summit of the O2, rewarding themselves with stunning, breezy panoramic views of the London skyline.
A massive shoutout goes to our incredible students and staff. Navigating 13 different trips during a Red Warning Heatwave is no small feat. Thanks to everyone’s suncream-applying, water-drinking, and positive-attitude-keeping efforts, the EW26 programme ended on the highest note possible.
