On Monday we welcomed our wonderful Year 10 students back from Work Experience with a one-man performance of Macbeth. This is a key GCSE text that we will be studying early in Year 11 and as Shakespeare is famously complex we thought it would be good to get an idea of the play in a fun and engaging way.
Anthony Glenn was incredible, bringing enough energy even for a whole year group of year 10 students first thing on a Monday morning and recruiting some fantastic helpers in the shape of Michael S, Cameron P and Jahleel M in particular.
We asked for student feedback to gauge how useful they found it and I’m pleased to report that between 65 and 80% of student respondents said that they found the performance improved their understanding of the plot and the characters and more than 80% said that they enjoyed it.
We asked for a contribution of £4.50 from parents to cover the cost, so if you haven’t paid yet, please could you do so on IPayImpact as soon as possible. Your contribution is important to keep opportunities like this open to all. I hope that you will agree that it was very worthwhile.
