Eco-Garden Update

As we enter the ‘season of mists and mellow fruitfulness’ here are a few pictures from the KWS Eco-Garden. Our teams of student gardeners are, quite rightly, very proud of all their hard work.

Sports Update

Another good afternoon of racing at cross country on Thursday. Thomas C in Year 7 continues to impress finishing 5th and Lucy W in Year 8 finished 7th in her race. Special mention to Henry G too for going above and beyond!
A reminder that rugby training will continue from 9am – 10am at school. All are welcome.

Languages day Monday 26th September

We enjoyed celebrating the rich diversity of the different languages spoken by staff and students at KWS this week. Particular thanks to Rayan P, Syan B, Veer Sher S, Matilde F-E, Ferdinand V , Mohammed D and Ayaan M who spoke to us in assemblies about their various traditions and cultures.
We also have a Language ‘cook off’ competition this week.
All entries by Monday 3rd October please.

Times Tables Rockstars

Well done to all of our Year 7 & Year 8 TT Rockstars who have started their house competitions this month. We have held two weekly battles with a prestigious amount of house points up for grabs – 50 points for 3rd place, 75 for 2nd and a huge 100 points for 1st place.

Last week’s standings were:
1st – 7 Franklin 1076
2nd – 7 Armstrong 854
3rd – 7 Ali 639
1st – 8 Armstrong 1214
2nd – 8 Keller 733
3rd – 8 Franklin 614.

This week’s standings are:
1st – 7 Franklin 833

3rd – 7 Armstrong 356
1st – 8 Armstrong 1055

3rd – 8 Nightingale 849

These numbers represent the average number of questions answered per student in a week which is an incredible amount of correct times tables being answered.

A big shout out to last week’s Most Valuable Players (MVP) who were Gabi D (8Ke) and Samuel M (7Ar) and this week’s MVP’s who are Henry G (8Ar) and Max S (7Fr).

Each week the battles are reset so keep playing in battles and your house might be at the top next week!

Rugby Season Update

This is just a request for any parents that would be willing to support with the running of rugby in school. Moving forward, training and matches will be on Saturday mornings, so support would be needed then.

If you are interested in helping, please email Mr Alexander at j.alexander@kwschool.co.uk.

Celebrating Success

At KWS, we have a weekly whole school celebration assembly where student achievement is recognised. We, of course, have ample reasons to celebrate our students’ achievements within school, but we would also love to be able to recognise where students have accomplished success outside of school, whether this be sporting, artistic or within any other sector.
Therefore, if your child has achieved something outside of school, please communicate this with their form tutor so that we may share the great news in our weekly celebration assemblies.
We look forward to being able to extend our praise in the coming weeks!
