It may have been a couple of weeks ago, however, we wanted to share with you all how our students participated in our belated celebrations of Diwali! Our wonderful Catering team put on a delicious Diwali inspired menu for our staff and students to enjoy; Rayan (Year 10) and Syan (Year 9) volunteered to lead an assembly to each year group on the history of Diwali, why and how it is celebrated all around the world and in their own families; the talented Miss Robinson (Art) invited KS3 students to create their own Rangoli designs; our Arts Leaders led bright and wonderful chalk drawings outside on our courtyard; sand art making took place in our main hall and finally, led by Miss Hammond (Food tech), Year 10’s rolled their sleeves up and made (from scratch!) their very own samosas!
It was a joyous afternoon to see our students participate and celebrate Diwali in our own KWS way. Thank you to all staff who supported, especially Miss Annie who helped throughout the day and to Mrs Ryman (English) and Mr Armstrong (Premises) who helped put up lights all around the food hall and reception.
