Katherine Warington School Celebrates Exceptional Third Set of KS4/GCSE Results

August 20, 2026/in News/by Dean Inns

Students and staff at Katherine Warington School (KWS) are celebrating another hugely successful set of GCSE results, with students achieving excellent outcomes. Building on the school’s foundation of academic ambition, this year’s results showcase the dedication, growth, and hard work of the entire school family.

Headteacher Mr. David Martin commented, “I could not be prouder of our students and their achievements today, it has been a joy to see them smiling and celebrating their success. Over the past five years, this cohort has demonstrated extraordinary determination, focus, and drive, and seeing their hard work rewarded today is immensely satisfying.”

“Success like this is never done in isolation. We are deeply grateful to our parents and carers for their support and partnership. Finally, my sincere gratitude goes to our tireless teachers and support staff. Day in and day out, their dedication, belief, and care inspire our students to reach higher.”

“Today has been a wonderful opportunity to celebrate the success of this year group. We have seen our students grow enormously during their time at KWS, both academically and personally. Their achievement is richly deserved.”

Particular congratulations go to Lucy, Adam and Henry who together gained an impressive 27 grade 9s.

The school is pleased to see so many students achieve the grades they need to progress to their chosen post-16 pathways, including KWSixth (Katherine Warington’s Sixth Form) that launched in September 2024.

August 13, 2026/in News/by Dean Inns

Katherine Warington School is celebrating a landmark moment in its history and is thrilled to announce fantastic success with its first ever set of KS5 results.

Headteacher Mr. David Martin commented, “We are extremely proud of our students’ accomplishments and for their resilience, dedication and commitment. This set of results is a true testament to the strong foundations we have built as a new school community and how the school continues to grow in strength from one year to the next. The outstanding achievements across a wide range of subjects demonstrates not only the academic potential of our students but also the incredible support provided by our dedicated staff and supportive families. I’d like to extend my gratitude to the entire school community.”

“Alongside our amazing A-level outcomes, our BTEC/CTECH students also achieved phenomenal results, further highlighting the breadth of success in our academic Sixth Form.”

The vast majority of students have secured places at their first-choice universities. Alongside degree courses, many have also gained places on highly competitive apprenticeship schemes with companies such as Raytheon (Finance) and Visa (Chartered Manager).

Mr Martin also added “The students have been a fabulous year group who have contributed so much to KWS over their time here. They have achieved truly exceptional results. We are proud of each and every one of them and wish them all the very best in their future endeavours.”

The Head of Sixth Form, Chris Laing, echoed Mr Martin’s congratulations adding ‘I am incredibly proud of our students. This is a very special moment for the whole school community. To see our first cohort of students in KWSixth achieve these results is hugely rewarding. These students have set a fantastic standard for those who will follow.
