Period 7 and Clubs
Period 7 is completely different from all the other periods in the day. We get to choose what we want to do for this period out of 3 categories: Mind, Body and Soul.
No matter what you choose each activity is interesting and fun because it is something we don’t usually do. Also in Period 7, you get to be with people who you wouldn’t be within a class and get to work with teachers on things they enjoy, rather than their normal subject.
When is Period 7?
Period 7 is from 3.00pm to 3:30pm Monday to Thursday. On a Friday we have assembly and finish school early!
What are the options of Period 7?
There are multiple options that change every term in the 3 categories of Mind, Body and Soul.
Mind Examples: Creative Writing, Media Studies, French, Chromebook Confidence, Debate, Social Studies
Soul Examples: Photoshop, Art Leaders, Band, Relaxing Crafts, Drama Studies, Music Tech, Animal Studies, Summer Showcase Rehearsals
Body Examples: Yoga, Tai Chi, Gaelic Football, Trampolining, Hockey, Basketball, Football
Do you only do 1 activity for the whole year? How does it work?
Each term you pick 1 activity from each category to do Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday. After each term, you pick a different 3 activities you want to do. You can never do the same activity twice, which means we get to try out even more interesting things. Of course, you can’t always get your first choice, but it doesn’t really matter if you don’t, because there is just so much to choose from!
What are the different lunch clubs?
There are so many different lunch clubs to choose from, that everyone can find something they are interested in or want to do.
Some of our clubs are:
Basketball, Drama, Choir, Chill Club, Homework Club, Tech Club, Football, Netball, Eco Club, Chess Club, and Debate Club

“Football, Gaelic Football and Touch Rugby, because I really enjoy taking part in different Sports”.
“I really enjoyed going to Allianz where we got to train with the Saracens as part of the school’s rugby club. Our Rugby Training is on a Saturday morning at Harpenden Rugby Club. It is a great way to start the weekend.”
“My favourites would have to be drama and art because the teachers always make it fun, and it’s just really good to relax.”
“My favourite period 7 is trampolining, and my favourite lunchtime club is girls football. I’m a sporty person, and a cheerleader so I spend half my time upside down. Trampolining is fun, and I’m also on the girl’s football team so it’s good to get some training in.”
“Football club and art club because I play for a football team outside of school and I love art”
